Mobile Banking Redesign

Reimagined the mobile banking experience for Gen Z users, focusing on simplified navigation and financial literacy features.

Overview

This project involved a complete redesign of a mobile banking app targeting Gen Z users. The goal was to make banking less intimidating and more intuitive.

The Challenge

Young users found traditional banking apps overwhelming. Research showed they wanted simpler interfaces with clear explanations of financial concepts.

My Role

Lead UX Designer — responsible for user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.

Process

  1. Research — Interviewed 15 users aged 18-25 about their banking habits
  2. Synthesis — Created affinity maps and user personas
  3. Design — Developed wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma
  4. Testing — Conducted 3 rounds of usability testing with 8 participants each

Results

  • 40% reduction in task completion time for common actions
  • Net Promoter Score increased from 32 to 58
  • App store rating improved from 3.2 to 4.6 stars
